Summary:
Not your typical Japanese restaurant. No “Moshi Moshi!” when you walk through the door.
The decor is cheaper looking than a Chinese takeaway joint, and most of the floor staff are.. well… caucasian…
It sounds like it wouldn’t bode well, and judging by the unpainted ply wood bench surrounding the open kitchen, it doesn’t look like it would either.
But be surprised. The food is excellent (all the chefs look the business). The service swift. The price reasonable and no queuing on a Friday night.
Must have:
The specials.
The oysters.
