Even after visiting here twice, I’m still struggling to work out how the name relates to this lovely Melbournesque cafe.
Not quite in the middle of town, but definitely of a cultural vibe that’s equivalent of its Berliner counterpart, Mitte sits unobtrusively in the back streets of North Fitzroy.
The coffee is good. The service of a high standard, and at this stage, it still hasn’t achieved the wanky poser business of the inner south east.
Must haves:
The Caesar style eggs – think “what a caesar salad should be when you are starving”.
The Smoked salmon scrambles (though i think this will only be on the specials board for a limited time.
